Pepemon Finance – What happens when 3 great things collide
You’ve heard of Pepe, you’ve heard about Pokemon, we would hope that you have heard about the wonderful world of NFTs. Now you’ve heard of Pepemon Finance. NFTZine were lucky enough to exchange some words with Alex and Maxie from the team. A big big shout out to @PerpetualChill for helping us to get in contact! Pepemon Finance, as well as being a boom to the Save Pepe movement started by Boys Club creator Matt Furie to reclaim Pepe from the hard right, after he was forcibly adopted, no kidnapped,by some Reddit people with lots of nasty things to say and insinuate about lots of decent people.
They are also bringing in the fun, excitement and collectibility of Pokemon cards and mashing them up as some fantastic NFTs backed by their own ecosystem. Their own team of creatives conceive the original and unique Pepemon NFT cards. The community members can then mint these cards as the new series get released, but they need to be tactical about it and consider the characters and attributes on the cards they choose to mint, because they all have different significance later on. There is the added bonus that collector’s edition cards can be evolved into rarer, more advanced cards by staking them in exclusive and time-limited staking events.
Behind this conceptual mashup, which started as an experiment between developers and graphic designers it is a really quite serious project that has really kicked off over the past few months. In October and November they managed to get their two native tokens listed on CoinGecko. $PPBLZ in October and $PPDEX in November. I have posted an excerpt from their project overview so you can see how their infrastructure works.
$PPBLZ is the fundamental token of the Pepemon ecosystem, with total supply capped at 14,000. It is staked to earn $PPDEX. For each transaction claiming $PPDEX, there is a 10% fee going to our development fund.
$PPDEX is the token used to mint Pepemon NFTs from our Store. It is farmed by staking $PPDEX, has an unlimited supply, and is burned each time a user mints an NFT, with a 10% fee for the dev fund.
In early October they engaged the community by airdropping a very generous 98.6% of their supply of 14,000 $PPBLZ tokens and then used the remaining 0.14% to add liquidity to their Uniswap pool. There was no pre-sale and no token allocation for the team. This was all done in conjunction with a meme shout-out and an invitation in the form of a contest for those keen to secure a spot on their limited whitelist. The $PPBLZ, after an initial pump short after launching has stayed at a pretty constant $24 – $27 with an all time high of $99.63 and a low of $21.17 and an impressive market cap of $381,945 (as of 10th Dec 2020). This sort of stability and community devotion is sure to hold lots of weight with the wider investment community. On top of all this already impressive data, they have a $PPBLZ staking function where you are able to put your $PPBLZ to work and earn $PPDEX to spend on the unique NFTs they have to offer. Below is another exc8erpt from their project overview to show how fast this project is gathering momentum.

Being involved actively in the ecosystem and offering your early support will make it easier to access the “Battle Cards” when this exciting new development comes to fruition.
NFTZine would like to thank Alex and Maxie for their valuable time and being an early supporter of ours. This has been a really stimulating project to write about as it is already so multifaceted and there are still more compelling elements to come.
